About Lisa & Carley
Back in 2019, we dove headfirst into teaching because we were so disheartened by the sight of countless talented photographers undervaluing their craft and struggling with their businesses. Our mission was clear: to unite family and newborn photographers through candid conversations and heartfelt guidance.
Fast forward to 2024, and we've had the privilege of working alongside so many family photographers to help them establish and grow businesses to work for them .
We're both run successful family photography businesses, and we're consistently serving amazing UK client bases, who value our photography
We run sustainable, profitable business models that enable us to invest in ourselves, shoot what and who we love and share our version of success. and we want to share that knowledge with you.
We both believe that who you surround yourself with in life matters and this should also be the same for your family photography business.
Aside from our running successful family photography businesses , we are both married and busy Mum's to 3 children each ( ages from 6-16). We have been family and newborn photographers for a combined total of 18 amazing years and love to share our highs and lows in our workshops, it's something we believe should be talked about more openly in a safe environment with other like minded photographers.
Around the school runs, the night feeds and all the bits in between, we've each grown our businesses around our family and figured out our own parameters of success, amongst the life juggles.

The stylish accommodation is on-site in the large private cottage. There are two rooms with either a king size or super king size bed (booked out). Then two twin rooms and one triple room all with single beds and ensuites.

We've chosen the most beautiful and versatile location for shooting, relaxing and learning both indoor and outdoor.
Near Hereford (postcode HR4 8PH)
It's accessible from quite a few major cities by train and motorway.
They'll be a group call before hand to get to know other attendees and get a travel buddy where possible

Because of the small numbers, all dietary requirements will easily be catered for and the menu will be built around you. Having run many residential photography retreats before we know what works menu wise. We'll have a host helper on hand throughout the event to keep things ticking behind the scenes, so we can all concentrate on coming together.

Because we keep the attendee numbers low - under ten attendees and with there being two of us, you'll have plenty of time to actively shoot as well as the opportunity to ask business questions throughout.
We'd love you to stay all three nights but if you need to leave on Sunday evening then thats ok too.
From experience running previous photography workshops, retreats and styled shoot outs, we are well versed in ensuring theres enough balance between structured learning, relaxed conversations and time to breathe! They'll be group reflections, at least three styled shoots indoor and outside, live editing, relaxed sit down meals, and of course countryside walks to location scout together and a hot tub! Plus you'll have one of us for a 1-2-1 mentoring call online after the retreat. Amazing right?!

The models will be everyday families, but very carefully selected by us to give the best chance of relaxed co-operation. We always strive to make our families as diverse and 'real life' as possible. Whilst it can be great working with beautiful models and there is certainly a time and place for it, we believe that by working with regular families we can provide you with approachable images for your portfolio and give you the skills to help you in real life client facing situations. This isn't just about pretty pictures for your portfolio.
Styling wise, we will be inspired by the earthy warm summer season for outdoors and inside we'll be matching the organic neutrals of the interiors. You'll also have visibility to see exactly how we communicated the styling with the families and pulled the clients looks together.
